Discover the StudioAs a mum of two girls, I have lived the particular ache of watching a newborn become a toddler in what feels like a single exhale. I picked up a camera because I wasn't ready to forget a single thing. Now, years on, I do it so you don't have to forget either.
My approach is simple: safety first, always. Comfort over cleverness. Natural poses over forced ones. And an unhurried session pace that respects the fact you've just brought a new human into the world. I hold current infant first aid certification, maintain a sanitised studio between every session, and I will never put a baby into a position they resist. If it doesn't feel right, it doesn't happen.

Families travel to us from all across Victoria — including Melbourne, Geelong, Ballarat, Melton, Werribee, Point Cook, Caroline Springs, Sunbury and regional areas — because the controlled, warm, private studio environment is simply not something that can be replicated at home.
JS Photography Studio is located in Bacchus Marsh — approximately 45 minutes from Melbourne CBD via the Western Freeway (M8), 55–60 minutes from Geelong via the Princes Freeway (M1), 55 minutes from Ballarat via the Western Freeway, 20–30 minutes from Melton and Caroline Springs, 35 minutes from Werribee and Point Cook, and 30 minutes from Sunbury via the Calder Freeway.
We recommend booking during your pregnancy — ideally by week 28–32 — as newborn sessions must take place within the first 5 to 14 days after birth. The ideal window is 5–10 days. Sessions book out weeks and months in advance, especially for families planning to travel from Melbourne, Geelong or Ballarat. We hold your spot provisionally and confirm the exact date once your baby arrives.
Yes — provided your baby has been given the all-clear by your midwife or paediatrician, a short car journey is completely safe for a healthy newborn. Families regularly travel 45–90 minutes from across Victoria for their sessions. The studio itself is temperature-controlled, sanitised, and purpose-built for newborn comfort — it is one of the safest environments your baby will be in outside of hospital.
Yes — our Bump to Baby package combines a full maternity session during your third trimester with a complete newborn session after your baby arrives. Together these two sessions tell the complete story of this chapter — the anticipation, the arrival, and those impossibly tiny first days. The Bump to Baby package offers better value than booking each session separately and is our most popular offering for families planning ahead.
